Job description

SAP Basis Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Consultant to join our team and manage the technical infrastructure of  SAP systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of SAP environments, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and robust security across development, QA, and production landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP NetWeaver, and related platforms in both on-premise and cloud environments. You will play a critical role in supporting the stability, performance, and security of SAP systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize and enhance our enterprise applications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in SAP Basis administration
  • Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA DB, and SAP NetWeaver
  • Experience performing SAP installations and upgrades using SUM, SWPM, and Maintenance Planner
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hybrid SAP deployments
  • Knowledge of SAP security, transport management, and system performance tuning
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate (Basis or HANA) certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Required Certifications
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration (SAP NetWeaver)
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate – OS/DB Migration
  • SAP Activate Certification (Preferred but Optional)
Key Technical Skills
  • SAP system architecture and landscape design
  • SAP HANA and traditional database administration
  • SAP kernel and patch management
  • Transport Management System (TMS)
  • Operating system and database integration

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and upgrade SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, etc.).
  • Monitor system performance and implement tuning strategies.
  • Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across SAP landscapes.
  • Manage SAP transports, client copies, and system refreshes.
  • Administer SAP users, roles, and authorizations in coordination with security teams, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
  • Support SAP backup and recovery strategies, including integration with third-party tools.
  • Perform regular system backups, execute recovery procedures, and develop disaster recovery plans.
  • Administer transport management and change control processes across SAP landscapes.
  • Conduct regular health checks and apply patches and kernel updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP server, database, and connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with functional and development teams to support project deployments and system enhancements.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for SAP systems.
  • Maintain documentation for system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of backend systems
  • Manage integration of backend servers via Java Portals, serving as front-end systems.
  • Address application and configuration issues on Java Portals
