Data Architect - Salesforce (Remote) Primary Location: Remote V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Data Architect - Salesforce (Remote) for our premier client. Education and Experience » The selected partner should provide data architects with experience in: Salesforce data architecture and object modeling. Enterprise data architecture and data placement decisions. Integration architecture involving Salesforce and external systems. Data warehousing, staging databases, reporting marts, lakehouse concepts, or other supporting data platforms. Source-of-truth planning and data ownership models. Data governance, retention, quality control, and stewardship. Cost-conscious platform design. Independent design review during active implementation projects. Challenging implementation recommendations in a constructive and evidence-based way. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities » Deliverables: Salesforce data model review findings. Data disposition recommendations. Source-of-truth matrix. Architecture risk and gap assessment. Recommendations for data that should not reside in Salesforce. Supporting data layer recommendations. Integration and data flow recommendations. Cost-control and technical debt concerns. Governance and stewardship recommendations. Executive-ready summary of major risks, decisions needed, and recommended actions. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Job Responsibilities: Review the proposed Salesforce object model, data model, relationships, ownership assumptions, and integration approach. Assess whether the proposed design aligns with business needs, reporting needs, source data realities, and long-term supportability. Identify data that should not be placed in Salesforce and recommend where that data should reside instead. Recommend a cost-effective supporting data architecture for staging, transformation, reporting, integration, historical storage, and governance. Review vendor-provided design documentation, data mapping assumptions, and architectural recommendations. Identify risks related to Salesforce storage, custom objects, duplicate data, API usage, reporting limitations, licensing, governance, and technical debt. Recommend source-of-truth ownership for key data domains. Advise on integration and data flow patterns between Salesforce and other systems. Help define decision criteria for whether data should be migrated, referenced, summarized, archived, or excluded. Participate in design review sessions and provide written findings, risks, and recommendations. Objectives: Independently validate proposed Salesforce data structures and related data architecture decisions. Identify design risks before they become embedded in the build. Determine what data should reside in Salesforce, remain in source systems, be archived, be summarized, or be managed in a separate data layer. Review whether vendor recommendations support maintainability, reporting, integrations, governance, cost control, and long-term scalability. Provide internal staff with objective architectural guidance during a fast-moving delivery cycle. Reduce the risk of rushed decisions that prioritize implementation speed over proper data structure and sustainable design. Interested?
