About Wilkinson Electric

Wilkinson Electric is a respected electrical contractor delivering high‑quality commercial and industrial projects across the region. Safety is a core value of our company, and we are committed to protecting our people, our partners, and our projects through strong leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Position Summary

Wilkinson Electric is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead, manage, and continuously improve our company‑wide safety program. This role works closely with field leadership, project teams, and executive management to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and internal safety standards.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong construction safety background, allowing them to understand project planning, scheduling, cost impacts, and field execution when developing and enforcing safety programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and client‑specific safety requirements
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
  • Deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks to field and office personnel
  • Support project teams during pre‑construction planning to identify and mitigate safety risks
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators to integrate safety into schedules, work plans, and budgets
  • Track safety metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to leadership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety‑related client meetings, inspections, and regulatory visits
  • Promote a strong safety culture where employees feel empowered to speak up and stop work when needed

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction safety experience, preferably in electrical or commercial construction
  • In‑depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices
  • Experience developing and managing safety programs for multiple job sites
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, cost control, and work sequencing
  • Safety certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or equivalent
  • Experience working directly with general contractors and large commercial projects
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager or Estimator in the construction industry is helpful

Why Join Wilkinson Electric

  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Company vehicle or vehicle allowance (if applicable)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Long‑term career growth with a stable, respected electrical contractor (81 years and counting)
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee safety and company culture
