Job description
Wharton-Smith, Inc is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent with Commercial background for the Jacksonville, FL area. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the direction and daily supervision of all job site field personnel on assigned projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership for on-site field administration, supervision and technical management for all construction operations, including supervision of assistants, foremen, field engineers, subcontractors and other construction related personnel.
- Lead a culture of safety on the project
- Maintain quality
- Onsite supervision of all field related work, Scheduling and coordination with all subcontractors
- Hold pre-task meetings with subcontractors and other construction related personnel
- Lead a culture of safety on the project
- Extensive construction knowledge in vertical as well as horizontal construction

- Coordination of permit and regulatory inspections

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Appropriate supervisory experience.
- Current in OSHA 10& 30 hr, First Aid & CPR, SWPPP Inspector, Silica, Risk Management & Accident training.
- Current with training as competent person in trenching, scaffolds, rigging, confined space & fall protection.
- One (1) to Five (5) years construction-related experience or construction management/engineering with proven success in the completion of multimillion dollar projects.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Valid Driver License and ability to commute to job sites.
