Job Summary:
TechSource a Salas O'Brien Company is hiring a full-time Electrical Engineer to join the Action Officer Advanced Sources and Detector (ASD) Project team and support the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of a ~20 MeV linear induction accelerator, known as Scorpius, used in subcritical experiments at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). Work closely with multi-lab teams and vendors on advanced electrical engineering for accelerator systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical distribution, control, and diagnostic systems
  • Create and review schematics, block diagrams, and wiring/cable drawings (AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Troubleshoot and test electrical systems with general test equipment
  • Support procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning
  • Coordinate with vendors and technical leads
  • Ensure designs meet NEC and UL standards

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of a degree in Engineering +10 years experience, or equivalent
  • Experience with power distribution, instrumentation, and controls in industrial settings
  • Skilled in electrical testing (oscilloscopes, meters, signal generators)
  • Familiarity with NEC and UL standards
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of engineering project workflows and documentation
  • An ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree
  • Experience with linear induction accelerators
  • Prior work at NNSA-designated laboratories
  • Familiarity with high-radiation or high-voltage environments

Location: This position will be fully on-site at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS)
Travel: Travel to vendors and NNSS as needed
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $170,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
