Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Automation Engineer to join our team in Durham, NC. If you're passionate about automation, robotics, and manufacturing innovation, this is your opportunity to design systems behind some of the most recognized trading card products in the world.

Location: Durham, NC
Schedule: Full-time, Onsite

What You'll Do:
  • Lead the design, programming, and implementation of automation systems across production lines.

  • Manage full project lifecycles-scope, schedules, budgets, and technical documentation.

  • Coordinate resources across engineering, maintenance, IT, procurement, and quality.

  • Implement and optimize PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion control, SCADA, and vision systems.

  • Partner with system integrators and equipment vendors on advanced automation projects.

  • Drive initiatives for Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing integration (MES/ERP connectivity).

  • Ensure compliance with ANSI, OSHA, EPA, ISO, and MPG quality and safety standards.


What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronics Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience leading automation or control system projects in manufacturing.

  • Strong background in PLC/HMI programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent).

  • Proficiency in robotics, motion control, warehouse automation, and vision systems.

  • Knowledge of AMRs/AGVs, conveyors, MES, WMS, sensors, and drives.

  • Excellent project management, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • PMP certification preferred; experience in 24/7 manufacturing highly desirable.
