Job description

RDPI's Velocity software team develops the autonomy software that powers Velocity. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our perception and localization team. You will be part of an exceptional group of engineers building the platform and architecture for our perception, motion planning and control software. In addition, you will collaborate with engineers cross the team to develop and enhance our robotic capabilities.
Key job responsibilities
Specific areas of focus may include (but are not limited too):
- Evaluating and integrating new sensors into the autonomy software stack.
- Developing sensor fusion techniques for obstacle detection and localization.
- Developing machine-learning capabilities and infrastructure for robotic perception and localization.
- Optimizing runtime performance of autonomy algorithms by exploiting underlying hardware acceleration capabilities.
- Building frameworks for large-scale replay and evaluation of events in pre-recorded sensor data.
- Building frameworks to monitor and manage resource utilization on embedded compute platform.
- Building visualization tools for examination and debugging robot behavior.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 4+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 4+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 4+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
- 4+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
