The Role:
We are hiring a Senior Robotics Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer who is not only a strong team player but can also mentor colleagues. This is an on-site role with the expectations of 5 days a week in the Boston office. The Senior Robotics Engineer will have the opportunity to collaborate across teams while maintaining and building the systems that enable our robots. You will have a major impact on PFF products. This is an individual contributor role with in office requirements in Boston, reporting to the Director, Robotics Engineering.
Requirements:
  • Total of 4+ years of robot localization experience with a Bachelor's degree, 2+ with a Master's. The degree should be in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Proficiency with C/C++, Python.
  • Expertise designing and implementing localization algorithms, e.g. SLAM, particle filters, Kalman Filters, etc.
  • Experience working with a variety of robot sensors, e.g. lidar, stereo cameras, RGB cameras.
  • Strong Experience with Linux based embedded computers, Nvidia Jetson preferred.
  • Prior experience designing for commercial products is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work within a team environment.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to show proof that they can legally work in the U.S.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and maintain robot localization algorithms.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define, design, test, and create autonomous robots.
  • Clearly present and communicate plans and strategies for deliverables.
  • Properly document and test code.
  • Continually research, discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies and approaches.
  • Effectively use data to prove/disprove functionality.
  • Autonomously task manage and deliver in a timely manner
