Reports To: Site Manager/Head Route Setter & Facilities Manager
Department: Facilities
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Classification: Part-Time/Full-Time Hourly
Location: Site-Specific
Availability Needs: Nights and Weekends mandatory

As a Custodian you are passionate about cleanliness. You are an experienced cleaning professional who understands that clean spaces are a component of good customer service. You are self-driven, reliable, and up for the physical challenge of custodial work. You enjoy being part of a community and having friendly and positive customer interactions. As a Mesa Rim Custodian, you have high standards and take pride and ownership in the facility.
The What:
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and presentation of Mesa Rim facilities.
  • Responsible for general cleaning throughout the building, following facility cleaning procedures and guidelines
  • Clean bathrooms and locker rooms (toilets, showers, tile floors, mirrors, walls, etc.)
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, and deep clean floors (carpet, concrete, rubber and vinyl climbing floors, etc.)
  • Clean counters, rails, stairs, desks and other non-climbing surfaces
  • Clean windows
  • Collect and dispose of garbage
  • Clean up spills with appropriate equipment
  • Clean offices and staff room (including appliances and kitchenette)
  • Ensure doors are locked and proper security procedures are followed
  • Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment, restocking as needed and keeping custodial closet and storage areas tidy
  • Proactively communicate facility concerns and/or major repairs to supervisor
  • Support with larger projects such as painting, equipment assembly, etc. as needed
  • Complete tasks in timely manner with minimal supervision

Other work-related duties as assigned
Early morning hours are required; hours vary and minimums may be required according to the needs of business operations at each location
Must-Haves:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must contribute to Mesa Rim Climbing Center culture
  • Must have previous professional cleaning experience
  • Must demonstrate clear communication and be customer-service oriented
  • Must have ability to seek and accept, as well as give, critical feedback in a professional manner
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Must be able to work independently and creatively problem solve without direct supervision
  • Must regularly demonstrate a high degree of initiative and follow-through
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable using a step ladder
  • Must be able to work safely with variety of cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Must have basic computer skills

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range: $15.75-$21.50/hour
