We are looking for you to join our team as a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, Level 2 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL.
This position is 100% onsite.
The Manager of Manufacturing Engineering 2 will lead a team of Manufacturing Test Engineers charted to support our Transmitter, Travelling Wave Tube (TWT) and Integrated Microwave Assembly (IMA) products deployed in Radio Frequency (RF) Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
What you will get to do:
As Manager you will be responsible for seamless coordination and collaboration with your team and other NGC organizations to ensure Northrop Grumman's continued success in developing and maintaining production test capability as well as continuously improving production cost, test yields and cycle time of EW systems and sub-components.
This RF Manufacturing Engineering Test team is comprised of Electrical, Computer and Software Engineers who are responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing Test including: proposal preparation, capacity monitoring/forecasting, development and implementation of RF test equipment and software, troubleshooting of recurring production hardware (complex RF assemblies) used in our EW systems and continuous improvement to improve the recurring production cost, test yields, cycle time of EW systems and sub-components. The products operate, typically, between S to Ka bands with power dissipations up to multiple kilowatts. Commonly used test software includes C#, NITM LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI.
A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with the following:

Basic Qualifications for the Manager, Electronics Engineering 2:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience; OR a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or design.
  • Experience Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience reading and understanding product drawings and specifications.
  • The ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications for the Manager, Electronics Engineering 2:
  • Prior experience in a management position for a technical team. Success in the management of engineers during the design or manufacture of military-grade electronics equipment.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing with a specific focus on test engineering for military-grade hardware.
  • Project & Financial (Earned Value) Management
  • Electronic Warfare technology and system operation domain experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of Radio Frequency test equipment and test software.
  • Training, certification and practical application of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma (DMAIC) tools
  • Active DoD Security Clearance and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Experience in the use and application of the National Instruments LabVIEW programming environment
  • Experience in the use and application of National Instruments Micosoft C# programming environment.
  • Experience with ISO9001/AS9100

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
