Luxury Boutique Hotel | Rooms-Only Property

We are seeking a driven and service-obsessed General Manager to lead a rooms-only luxury boutique or independent hotel. This is a standout opportunity for a high-performing hospitality leader ready to step into their first General Manager role and make a real mark.

With no food & beverage or extensive ancillary outlets, this role is laser-focused on what matters most: exceptional rooms operations, revenue performance, and unforgettable guest experiences.

Background and Experience

Experience in chain luxury brands (e.g., Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Auberge) is acceptable if it includes operational depth but the candidates from these brands are likely to insulated

Core Expertise: Strong rooms division background is essential, including front office, housekeeping, reservations, and guest services. Proven track record in maintaining impeccable standards for room cleanliness, design, amenities, and personalized service in a luxury setting

Additional Strengths: Sales and revenue management experience highly desirable, such as yield management, channel optimization, and building relationships with OTAs, travel advisors, and direct corporate/wholesale clients. Ideal prior roles include:

    • Director of Rooms / Rooms Division Manager
    • Director of Sales & Marketing (with operational overlap)
    • Assistant General Manager / Hotel Manager in a smaller luxury property
    • Director of Operations with heavy rooms focus

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Operational Excellence: Deep knowledge of luxury rooms operations, including housekeeping protocols, in-room technology, sustainability practices (common in modern luxury), and crisis management.
  • Revenue and Financial Acumen: Expertise in budgeting, P&L management, forecasting, and driving ADR/occupancy in a rooms-only model. Ability to analyze market trends and compete effectively without F&B upsell.
  • Guest-Centric Leadership: Passion for delivering bespoke, anticipatory service; skilled in handling VIPs, resolving issues, and fostering loyalty in a high-expectation luxury segment.
  • Sales Orientation: Proactive in building partnerships (e.g., with luxury travel consortia like Virtuoso) and digital marketing to maximize direct bookings.
  • Team Building: Hands-on style suited to boutique properties; experience motivating small, high-performing teams with low turnover.
  • Soft Skills: Energetic, resilient, detail-oriented, and culturally attuned; excellent communication for owner/investor relations.
  • Community Relationship builder: Must be sociable and involved in the community

  • Career Stage: Demonstrates a clear progression in leadership responsibility and a strong appetite for ownership-level impact and long-term growth.

This individual will excel by leveraging deep expertise in rooms operations, sales, and revenue strategy to drive occupancy, optimize rates, and cultivate lasting guest loyalty. As a high-potential leader, they are ready to step into the role with confidence, deliver results from day one, and position the property as a standout within a competitive luxury market.
