American Residential Services (ARS), the nation’s largest provider of residential heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical services, is seeking an Assistant Sales Manager to lead our Retail Alliance Program throughout the greater Boston market.

The Assistant Sales Manager will have full responsibility for the performance and day-to-day operation of the retail program, including developing Retail Sales Associates, maintaining productive retail partnerships, ensuring appropriate staffing, and driving lead-generation results. This position will also support the Branch Sales Manager with the leadership, coaching, and development of the In-Home Sales Consultant team.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that requires regular travel throughout the Boston market. It is an excellent opportunity for an emerging sales leader who can build strong teams, improve performance, and connect retail lead generation with in-home sales success.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee the performance and day-to-day operation of the Retail Alliance Lead Generation Program
  • Lead, coach, and develop Retail Sales Associates across assigned retail locations
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and manage the performance of the retail team
  • Spend significant time in the field providing hands-on coaching and supporting team performance
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with retail store leadership and associates
  • Establish clear expectations and hold team members accountable for productivity, professionalism, and customer engagement
  • Monitor lead-generation results, staffing levels, conversion metrics, and other key performance indicators
  • Conduct team meetings, ride-alongs, field observations, and individual coaching sessions
  • Coordinate store events, promotional activities, and other lead-generation initiatives
  • Communicate staffing needs, performance updates, and operational priorities to retail partners and branch leadership
  • Partner with the Branch Sales Manager to support the leadership and development of the In-Home Sales Consultant team
  • Assist with sales meetings, coaching, KPI tracking, and performance-improvement initiatives
  • Help improve appointment conversion, close rates, revenue, and the overall customer experience
  • Ensure strong communication and collaboration between the retail and in-home sales teams
  • Help maintain effective sales coverage and customer support seven days per week
  • Promote a positive, customer-focused culture built around accountability, teamwork, and results

What We’re Looking For
  • At least one year of leadership, coaching, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Retail, sales, customer service, or lead-generation experience required
  • Experience leading teams and holding employees accountable for performance
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to motivate others and build productive relationships
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends as business needs require
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
