Location: Kansas City, MO up to $170's + Sign on bonus + Relocation


Large Acute Care Hospital | 500+Beds | Level I Trauma Center

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a high-performing perioperative team at one of the region’s most advanced hospitals.

This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a senior leadership role overseeing surgical services in a fast-paced, complex environment.


Highlights of the Role

  • Facility: 590-bed hospital | Level I Trauma, Level I STEMI, Comprehensive Stroke, Burn Center
  • Operating Rooms: 18 ORs (currently running 11–12, expanding with new anesthesia group)
  • Service Lines: Cardiac, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Ortho Trauma, General Surgery, Trauma, Burn, Kidney & Pancreas Transplants
  • Volume: 400–600 surgical cases per month, with growth opportunities under new anesthesia partnership
  • Team: 3 direct-report managers (SPD, OR, Pre-Op/PACU), CNCs, and ~90–100 staff


Education & Experience: 

  • 3 + years of RECENT ACUTE CARE Director of Surgical Services experience
  • (However, would accept Manager of Surgical services experience IF the candidate has several years of experience working in a large facility)
  • BSN Degree is Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred 

 

Additional Information:

Reporting Structure

·         This Director reports directly into COO

·         3 managers into Director (SPD manager, OR manager, Pre Op/PACU manager). CNCs under managers and roughly 90-100 head count

 

Overview

·        Level 1 Trauma Center, Level 1 STEMI, Comprehensive Stroke, Burn

·         18 ORs (currently running 11-12 due to anesthesia contract)

·         Services lines – Cardiac, neurosurgery, general, vascular, ortho trauma, kidney & pancreas transplants, trauma, burn. Really can do pretty much any services there besides heart & liver transplants

·         Volumes are currently around 400-600 a month. Just transitioned to a new anesthesia group in December and are rebuilding volumes
