Job Duties: Each department at the University of Wisconsin โ€“ La Crossemaintains an ongoing search to serve as a pool of potentialinstructors for program needs. If hired from this pool, theinstructor will be under the general supervision of the relevantdepartment chair. The instructor is responsible for teachingundergraduate and/or graduate courses. In addition to preparing forand holding classes [face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online], teachinginvolves maintaining currency in the content area related to thetheaching assignment, evaluating studentsโ€™ work, assessing studentoutcomes, providing regular and substantive feedback on studentwork, maintaining appropriate records, and holding office hours. Inaddition, workload may involve advising students and/or providingother service to the department. Other duties may be assigned bythe chair or dean.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction forone or more courses, including assessment of studentperformance

  • Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to acourse of instruction

  • Serves as an initial point of contact for students as itrelates to specific course or series content and expectations

Required Qualifications: Required: Masterโ€™s Degree in a field appropriate to the needs ofthe department, or significant progress toward a doctorate degree,or, in rare circumstances, post-baccalaureate certification orlicensure, or a baccalaureate plus experience, can be establishedas appropriate qualifications for the teaching position. Dependingon the program, specific certification/licensure or clinicalexperience may be required.
