PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The Coordinator-Social Media (Part-Time) will focus on establishing a targeted social media presence for the college in accordance with the guidelines provided by the City Colleges of Chicago. This job will be responsible for social media strategy, producing content for various social media platforms, and managing social media campaigns to promote the college's events and programs and enhance its reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develops and executes a social media strategy for the College with input from multiple departments.
  • Produces content across social media channels.
  • Develops, launches, manages, and integrates social media campaigns.
  • Coordinates the development of collateral with departments for use within social media posts.
  • Monitors the impact of public media by tracking metrics and analyzing the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Monitors and responds to conversations and keeps key stakeholders informed of trends and topics of interest.
  • Researches sources and current events to use on public media networks.
  • Distributes promotional material throughout the College.
  • Researches sources and current events to use on public media networks.
  • Maintains editorial calendar for key public media initiatives to provide fresh and engaging content on a daily basis.
  • Identifies ways to promote campus events by media visibility and enhance its reputation through innovative use of public media.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience in public media platforms; or Associate's degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of related experience in public media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and blogs or YouTube.
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive topics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database and technical applications specific to department area.
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments.
