Help Customers Feel Confident About Their Vehicle Care

We're looking for an experienced Service Advisor / Service Writer who enjoys helping customers, building trust, and working closely with technicians to keep vehicles safe and reliable.



At D&R Autoworks, a GreatWater garage, we combine the personal culture of a neighborhood shop with the tools, systems, and support of a growing automotive network. Our Service Advisors play a key role in delivering an outstanding customer experience while helping the shop run smoothly. What You'll Do:

As a Service Advisor, you'll serve as the primary connection between our customers and the technician team. Our team believes no task is too small when it comes to helping customers and supporting the shop.

  • Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, professional experience
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and assist customers with service questions
  • Sell recommended maintenance and repair services
  • Enter and track customer and vehicle information in shop management software
  • Tag vehicles and document service needs upon arrival
  • Build repair estimates and communicate recommendations clearly
  • Obtain customer authorization for repairs
  • Work closely with technicians to review inspection results and service recommendations
  • Assign work orders based on technician availability and skill level
  • Track vehicle progress and maintain clear notes in work orders
  • Notify customers when vehicles are ready and arrange payment and vehicle pickup
  • Perform occasional vehicle road tests
  • Assist with general shop operations when needed to support workflow

What We're Looking For:

  • 1+ year Service Advisor / Service Writer experience preferred
  • 1+ year sales experience or demonstrated ability to sell services
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
  • Comfortable using computer systems and shop management software
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Work Environment

  • This role operates within a professional automotive repair shop environment and requires the ability to:
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Lift up to 50 pounds when needed
  • Drive vehicles for testing or operational purposes
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with customer interaction
