Job description

The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry (OUCOD) invites applications for the position of Division Head of Prosthodontics in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Position Summary

The Division Head of Prosthodontics provides leadership and administrative oversight for all prosthodontic academic and clinical programs, including predoctoral fixed, removable, and implant dentistry. This role ensures alignment with the mission of the OUCOD and compliance with CODA accreditation standards, while fostering excellence in education, patient care, faculty development, and service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for divisional academic, clinical, and administrative operations
  • Lead strategic planning and represent Prosthodontics in college and university initiatives
  • Recruit, mentor, evaluate, and support faculty and staff
  • Develop and manage divisional budgets Oversee curriculum development, delivery, and continuous improvement in preclinical and clinical prosthodontics
  • Monitor student academic and clinical performance and support faculty calibration
  • Ensure high standards of evidence-based patient care in clinical teaching environments
  • Ensure compliance with CODA standards, university policies, and clinical best practices
  • Utilize academic and clinical platforms including Canvas, Simple Syllabus, Axium, and Microsoft Excel
EDUCATION:

DDS or DMD from a CODA accredited institution or foreign equivalent and completion of Part I and Part II of National Dental Board Examinations.

Preferred: Completion of a CODA-accredited Prosthodontics residency program with a certificate in Prosthodontics or Master's degree in Prosthodontics.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years of clinical practice experience. Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, clinical, or administrative settings.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

Must be eligible for licensure in the State of Oklahoma. Employment is contingent upon obtaining an Oklahoma dental license.
