• Working closely with the Division Director of Prosthodontics and the Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics in curriculum development and implementation related to Prosthodontics for the general dentist.
• Coordinating and helping deliver curricular content related to prosthodontics in the simulation lab and didactic settings for the pre-doctoral students.
• Working closely with the Assistant Dean for Dental Education and Informatics and other informatics personnel to optimize the use of technology to support the section's teaching and assessment programs.
• Helping ensure that the dental students and residents are competent in the management of patients requiring prosthodontic care.
• Working with the post-graduate AEGD and GPR programs to deliver curricular content and clinical coverage.
• Teaching pre-doctoral students in the clinical setting in procedures outside of the field of Prosthodontics in alignment with the SoDM's General Dentistry Model of education.
• Actively participating in the school's faculty practice.
• Participating in an emergency call.
• Assisting the Chair of General Dentistry and the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs in quality assurance and improvement, and compliance efforts.
• Seeking to serve on committees and boards within the school and professional societies.
• Attending meetings and representing the School at internal and external constituencies venues as requested by the Chair of General Dentistry or the Dean.
• Commitment to building teams in planning and to identifying and resolving problems.
• Commitment to conducting basic and/or clinical research, and other scholarly activities that will help qualify for appropriate promotion.
• Commitment to the Mission and Vision of the School of Dental Medicine, including both a community-based and a generalist model of dental education.
• Commitment to evidence-based teaching and practice.
• Performing other duties and assuming additional responsibilities as assigned by the Division Director of Prosthodontics, the Chair of General Dentistry, or the Dean of the School of Dental Medicine.

Minimum Education/Experience

• DDS or DMD (or equivalent)
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Current residents in prosthodontics programs accredited by CODA are eligible for consideration, provided they will complete their program by the intended start of employment.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

• Eligibility for dental licensure in North Carolina.
