Overview
The Senior Manager Project Controls is responsible for implementation, training, oversight and conducting Project Controls related practices for projects across multiple operational groups.
The location of this position is flexible, based on the identified candidate. This position will have up to 30% travel to regional office or site locations.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Effectively communicate project scope, plan and progress to all stakeholders internally and externally
  • Lead, train, and manage project controls personnel on project controls functions, processes, tools and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to project management on project controls analysis, trends, performance, forecasting, Time Impact Analysis, and claims
  • Coordinate resources and assign tasks on Project Controls activities
  • Lead reviews and project controls analysis with upper management and project teams to provide innovative solutions to scheduling & cost performance
  • Lead project reviews on actual performance, change management, budgets, forecasting, progress and schedule performance
  • Develop practices and procedures as needed
  • Assist/train project management in use of PM/Controls tools
  • Works on complex assignments and manages internal/external team members towards a common goal.
  • Complete performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employee
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of related experience in project controls or cost scheduling and planning
  • 4+ years of CPM schedule integration, or Cost Control and managing personnel
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneous tasks/assignments

  • Must be capable of up to 25%-30% travel (e.g. 1 week or 5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have the ability to drive and have proper licensing.

  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
