Job Description

The Project Chief will oversee all Closures commodities including Door In White, Fender, Static and Dynamic Sealing, and Liftgates for vehicle programs, from start to finish. This role involves early collaboration with Product Planning and the Product Design Office to guide the vehicle design towards feasible technical solutions. Additionally, the Project Chief will work extensively on determining appropriate cost, weight, and investment targets for new vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Planning and the Product Design Office to guide vehicle design.
• Determine cost, weight, and investment targets for new vehicles.
• Track on-time sourcing and design release of component designs for tooling.
• Manage component and system testing plans and timelines to ensure timely delivery of Closures components.
• Develop and implement recovery mitigation plans as necessary.
• Provide significant support to suppliers and assembly plants throughout pilot and launch phases.
• Actively manage warranty or quality issues related to exterior trim post-launch.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in the automotive industry.
• 8+ years as a Design Release Engineer or Program Manager.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lead initiatives and manage processes, suppliers, and manufacturing.
• Ability to travel to the USA for trainings/meetings

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of WINDSOR, ON.

The pay range for this position is $46.90 - $46.90/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in WINDSOR,ON.
