The Human Resources Manager will provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership during a defined temporary period, ensuring continuity, stability, and effective delivery of core HR functions. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing human resources programs in support of operational objectives and business strategy.

The HR Manager will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, overseeing employee and labour relations, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with applicable employment legislation, collective agreements, and organizational policies. This role also supports food safety and quality standards by ensuring HR practices align with regulatory and operational requirements, while contributing to the broader Human Resources strategy of the organization.
Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000

      • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with broad exposure to HR operations and employee relations.
      • At least 3 years of demonstrated people management or leadership experience.
      • Proven experience applying human rights legislation, Employment Standard Act (ESA) requirements, and best practices in labour and employee relations
      • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, workplace policies, and compliance requirements
      • Experience in high-speed manufacturing is an asset
      • Effective communicator and public speaker

      • Provide guidance to the business with regards to company policy administration, legislative requirements and application of CBA and interpretation to ensure consistent, equitable and compliant application 
      • Oversee administration of compensation and benefit programs, performance evaluation and annual total rewards programs
      • Conduct investigations, execute grievance, arbitration and mediation processes. Provide employee and legislation support and guidance 
      • Partner with the business to develop and execute engagement and retention initiatives and action plans. 
      • In conjunction with senior leaders, assess competencies and identify high potential employees and develop action plans to ensure bench strength, coach senior leaders in identifying high potential employees 
      • Provide day-to-day leadership of team, including hiring, development and performance management 
      • Participating in site/departmental management meetings, SQF annual reviews, Business Continuity planning and other cross-functional meetings to provide human resource insights, where needed execute Cavendish Farms and enterprise-wide HR initiative including communications and change management.
