Job description

Eaton's North American Sales division is currently seeking a Manager, Project Engineering. This is a remote role supporting our Central Region, which includes Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Kansas, and Ohio. We welcome candidates located throughout the region, with a preference for those who live within 50 miles of an Eaton facility to support collaboration and business needs.

What you'll do: The Manager's primary responsibility will be to lead and direct the technical team of Project Engineers supporting Field Project Managed orders in the Central Region. Primary duties include, but are not limited to, leading the activities of Project Engineers in the Central Region to ensure workload is properly distributed, training needs are identified and addressed, and that systems and processes are being used in an efficient and common manner, to proactively support project orders for Customers, Field Sales, and Project Managers. In this function you will: Provide leadership and development to Project Engineers supporting Project Managed orders across the assigned region.

Develop and motivate direct reports through goal setting, development plans, performance reviews and ongoing monitoring of performance. Serve as escalation point of contact for technical and commercial issues. Promote proactive technical project support through timely and accurate communications with internal partners (Product lines, Field Sales, and Project Managers) and external customers relative to pricing and application support, managing Bill of Material and configuration changes, and providing documentation packages.

Actively promote the Project Management Organization capabilities to customers, distributors, and sales. Communicate product line changes which impact order management processes. Identify process improvements and facilitate the documentation, communication and training on revised processes and procedures.

Utilize tools (Vista/SAP, Power BI, BidManager, Microsoft Office, Salesforce/PM Hub) and other available resources to identify and resolve issues on project orders consisting of Built-To-Order, Assembled-To-Order, and Engineered-To-Order equipment as well as insuring workload balance across team. Develop strong working relationships with Field Sales Management, the Project Management Leadership Team, key customers within the supported region, and division management. Coordinate with the Technical Services Team to support efforts to drive continuous improvements in the documentation and configuration support processes.

Perform all other duties as required by the Manager, Project Engineering. Qualifications: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of sales, customer service and/or project management/project engineering experience Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license Relocation is not available. Candidates must currently reside within Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Kansas,or Ohio to be considered.

Skills: POSITION CRITERIA: Leadership skills. Storng customer focus and interpersonal skills (written and verbal communication). Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and Eaton personnel at all management and professional levels Proficient in creative problem solving, conflict resolution and managing priorities.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Demonstrated proficiency in key proprietary tools (Vista, Bid Manager, Project Management Calculator) as well as Microsoft office applications. Market and customer knowledge and a solid understanding of the sales process and management of project orders.

Up to 25% Travel The expected annual salary range for this role is $113000 - $165000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
