Summary

Project Managers provide outstanding independent project management skills from project administration to scheduling and cost control to estimating and closeout of job.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Review estimates and bids for proper scope coverage and efficient production.
  • Coordinates with the logistics team and use logistics software, XBE, to plan daily work.
  • Assist in managing project schedule throughout course of design and/or construction process through completion.
  • Ability to participate in preconstruction services, including estimating.
  • Schedule sub-contractors and work with Prime.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities with periodic on-site inspections, track potential disputes and claims, procure punch list for the project, perform inspections, and resolve any deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other Project Manager(s) to find alternative solutions.
  • Collaborate and monitor Superintendent(s) performance on contracts and/or work orders.
  • Collaboration of project safety plan with Superintendent(s).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management staff, company project staff, vendors, contractors, and owners on any issues/problems related to the project.
  • Skills in listening, problem solving, and running effective meetings with the ability to be open-minded.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external contacts, municipalities, etc.

Education and/or Experience

  • BS in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand paving design and specifications.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations with a calm attitude.
  • Practical knowledge of OSHA laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Good computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good driving record.
  • Ability to assist in other work-related areas as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel around the state of Iowa as needed, as well as work approximately 50 hours per week.
