Tristar's Airport division requires a Project Manager to be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget and in compliance with the contract specifications, while fostering a people first environment with your respective project teams and maintaining positive relationships with Owners.  Tristar is a premier contractor of choice within the aerodrome industry, which provides future growth opportunities for candidates wiling to broaden their experience in national and international markets. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of designated projects. 
 
This position requires travel across Florida, Texas, the Caribbean Islands, and Canada to support project execution and operational needs. Travel will be upto 50% of the time. We are open to candidates based in Florida, Texas and North Carolina, with frequent travel.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Establish customer relations and business opportunities as a representative of the Company 
  • Support Estimating as required - attend pre-bid meetings; review tender documents for technical requirements and ensure bid compliance; provide various execution plans; close tenders with Estimating leadership. 
  • Responsible for the overall planning and scheduling of assigned projects including monitoring and reporting. 
  • Ensure that all functions and operations on assigned projects are executed in compliance with local legislative and labour requirements. 
  • Ensures that Company policies and procedures are followed in all aspects of project execution. 
  • Identify project concerns proactively and alert management of potential risks on assigned projects. Develop a plan to minimize and mitigate project impacts. 
  • Monitors the overall progress of the project to ensure effective reporting, forecasting and change management on a constant basis and takes corrective action where necessary. 
  • Responsible for management of all aspects of subcontractor work execution and contracts. 
  • Ensure timely preparation of accurate billings, approvals and collection of payments. 
  • Advocate for Safety First culture
  • Strong Leadership to develop effective teams in an engaging environment
  • Willing to travel for project assignments both nationally and internationally
  • Ability to work independently, accurately and under pressure 
 
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Minimum 5-10 years of industry experience; minimum 2 years in similar role 
  • Technical background with professional accreditation (P.Eng./ CET) or equivalent industry experience 
  • General knowledge of electrical construction; preferred Aerodrome experience 
  • Read and interpret technical design drawings 
  • Contracts - Commercial knowledge 
  • Negotiating skills, composure under pressure 
  • Scheduling and Cost Analysis based on EVM principles 
  • Supervisory experience 
  • Computer proficiency; MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project or P6 
  • Written/oral communications 
  • Presentation skills 
  • Problem solving and organizational skills
