Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. Our team is looking for an Engineering Manager- PMO to join the team. Become part of a dynamic aerospace company. You will report to the Director of PMO and will have an onsite work structure in Chatsworth, California. The role is responsible and accountable for leading the engineering function within PMO for transfer and rebuilding of all engineering data, product knowledge, assembly and test capability associated with a product line transfer into Ontic.
As an Engineering Manager-PMO, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead and develop PMO Engineering team to ensure competent and capable of transferring engineering work package to Ontic.
  • Ensuring that the business assigned direct and indirect resources are thoroughly supported with product and process knowledge during a transition
  • Ensure all documents associated with transition are retrieved and loaded / catalogued into Ontic ERP and data repositories.
  • Develop and lead all engineering activities associated with transfer.
  • Ensure product knowledge is captured and documented for all transferring products.
  • Provide training and support for technicians / operators / engineering / HSE etc.
  • Develop and implement lessons learnt.
  • Provide technical support during Due Diligence phase.
  • Management and direction of assigned resources to include contract staff.
  • Adhere to legislation governing employment, including but not restricted to; health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities ensuring compliance with local policies and procedures.
  • Ability to participate and contribute to several projects simultaneously.
  • Undertake such other duties commensurate with the role that may be required from time to time.
  • Ensure that identified opportunities for efficiency are implemented during transition period.
  • Ensuring direct reports are supported through regular face to face meetings and performance reviews.
  • Ensure transferring equipment is "fit for purpose and H&S compliant"
  • Ensure all data and product and process knowledge for TE is transferred.

To be considered for the Engineering Manager-PMO opening, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Aerospace experience is required.
  • Proven experience in a technical managerial role is required.
  • Previous knowledge in technical MRO/OEM role is preferred.
  • Understanding of aviation quality standards, design, and configuration controls is required.
  • Demonstrate Manufacturing Engineering experience with a broad technical competence is an advantage - Mechanical / Hydraulic / Pneumatic / Electrical / Electronic.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Test Equipment is an advantage - Mechanical / Hydraulic / Pneumatic / Electrical / Electronic.
  • Concise and accurate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills of technical issues.
  • Capable of using MS Office to include MS Project and ERP systems effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to train others on products to include use of TE.
  • Ability to lead in challenging situations.
