Job description

We're expanding our Heavy Civil Earthworks team and looking for a driven Project Controls Coordinator who's ready to be at the center of project execution. In this site based role, you'll travel to project locations across the U.S. and work directly with field leadership to ensure accurate cost tracking, schedule performance, progress measurement, and documentation. You'll be embedded with onsite teams, providing real time project controls support that keeps our operations aligned, efficient, and moving forward.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications to support field teams and validate cost and schedule impacts

  • Perform quantity calculations and track daily/weekly progress of installed work for cost and schedule reporting

  • Assist in developing construction work packages, activity plans, and project controls documentation

  • Support field surveying and layout activities by capturing accurate quantity and progress data

  • Compile, verify, and reconcile daily labor timesheets, equipment reports, and other fieldgenerated data

  • Contribute to safety reviews, toolbox talks, and sitewide safety meetings to ensure hazard awareness and compliance

  • Coordinate materials tracking, delivery schedules, and receipt verification to support cost and schedule alignment

  • Assist with work planning to ensure crews and subcontractors are sequenced efficiently and in alignment with project schedule goals

  • Provide project controls oversight, including subcontractor coordination, tracking cost codes, and monitoring field productivity

  • Conduct basic engineering calculations and support drafting needs related to quantity tracking or design changes

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in project controls, field engineering, project coordination, or similar roles within heavy civil construction, with proven support across multiple earthworks phases

  • Education in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (bachelor's degree preferred)

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, and familiarity with scheduling tools such as Primavera

  • Experience with construction planning software, model viewers (3D), and document management platforms

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively and engage confidently with field teams and stakeholders

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, including project setup, cost coding, RFIs, change orders, subcontractor coordination, and closeout procedures

  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, problemsolving ability, and commitment to continuous improvement

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to travel and remain onsite for the duration of each project
