Job description

This position will offer you the opportunity to manage project team(s) consisting of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals involved in the design, modification, and analysis for power and industrial projects.

  • You will work on challenging assignments from individual projects, large projects, major programs, to large scale engineering only, Engineer Procure and EPC projects. 
  • Direct the team leads in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of engineering, design, and construction support.
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, with high quality, on time performance and to strict financial requirements. 
  • Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. 
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements and Sargent & Lundy formats.
  • Perform and provide independent reviews of work performed by others, including scopes of work, proposals, procurement specifications, and contract documents.

This position is expected to start remote with the expectation to work on a hybrid work schedule once the Boise, ID office is opened.

Essential skills and experience:

  • A BS in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
  • PE license is required.
  • 10+ years of past relevant experience in the power and/or industrial sector as a project manager.
  • Experience in the design of systems for non-commercial, heavy industrial plants (power or chemical), with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new plants, modifications, or replacements; Experience must include the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation of calculations and specifications.
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
