Job description

We are hiring an Engineering Manager!

The Engineering Manager position is responsible for both the tactical and strategic facets of cost reduction efforts, sustaining activities, and system improvements. Cost Improvement Engineering involves existing products being methodically evaluated on cost by means of function, design, and ease of manufacture and assembly. This position will manage engineering support for cost improvement, providing deliverables on time and within established budgets. Sustaining Engineering focuses on product, process, and/or supply chain changes to maintain the existing revenue stream. This position will work both directly with their immediate team and with other functional groups to ensure risk to raw material supply, and any compliance gaps are mitigated. This Engineering Manager position will facilitate the growth and development within their respective team.

Essential Responsibilities:

Serves as Project Lead for highly complex projects such as complaint investigations, material changes, packaging changes, line extensions, and product modifications.

Leads and/or supports Business process improvements applying lean tools.

Actively seeks out and implements areas of improvement within processes and/or procedures.

Leads cross-functional discussions with proposed process and/or system improvements.

Plays catch-ball with other cross-functional leaders of various departments and sites.

Teaches and assists on technical documentation, design controls, compliance, standards and development of specifications.

Experience and technical knowledge of working on Class I and Class II medical devices.

Uses engineering change management process to implement engineering changes, new product introductions, line extensions, and product modifications.

Presents and communicates proposals for change, system improvements, and project updates to Stakeholders.

Exhibits strong project management skills through the management of timelines and project plans.

Demonstrates the ability to drive accountability across internal and external groups to meet deadlines.

Effectively defines scope of work within potential cost improvement ideas and/or supply chain issues.

Supports Quality Management Systems (QMS) functions including but not limited to, complaint handling, issues reviews and CAPAs with demonstrated knowledge in FDA and ISO Design Controls, Risk Management, and Design Transfer.

Reviews and approves protocols, drawings, and documentation for accuracy and to ensure they meet applicable internal and external standards.

Works with manufacturing and quality assurance teams, performs root cause analysis for product process failures/discrepancies and proposes preventative and corrective actions.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related experience in lieu of.

5+ years of experience as an engineer in a medical device company preferred.

5+ years of experience interacting with customers; managing processes, and projects.

5+ years of demonstrated project / program management, budgeting and finance, preferred.

Experience in medical device quality processes under FDA 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485.

Strong engineering, analytical, and technical skills

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop others.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro/E or SolidWorks design application software.

Estimated starting annual base salary pay ranges is $129,000 - $148,000, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. TIDI Products offers a competitive benefits package to eligible full-time employees, which currently includes medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with employer matching contributions, life insurance, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more, as well as paid sick leave in accordance with applicable law.
