Job description

Job Summary:
Royal Caribbean Group is a vacation-industry leader with global brands, offering innovative experiences for their guests. The Engineering Manager will lead high-performing teams to deliver scalable software solutions for the digital commerce platform, aligning technical roadmaps with business goals and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Define and execute a technical strategy aligned with product and business goals.
• Balance innovation vs. execution—knowing when to build, iterate, or cut scope.
• Ensure scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software architectures.
• Clearly communicate trade-offs between scalability, performance, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain best practices in engineering processes, security, and compliance (SOX, DevSecOps).
• Act as a bridge between engineering, product, and business teams, ensuring alignment.
• Proactively manage expectations and avoid surprises for leadership.
• Tailor communication depth for different audiences—from deep technical discussions with engineers to high-level business updates.
• Influence decision-making with data, risk analysis, and sound technical judgment.
• Lead your product engineering teams in designing and delivering customer-facing agentic AI solutions — including autonomous multi-agent systems, LLM-orchestrated workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines — that improve how customers discover, book, and engage with cruise experiences.
• Partner with product and technical leaders to identify where agentic AI creates meaningful leverage across the e-commerce platform — from intelligent search and personalization to booking flows and post-purchase engagement.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering practices within your teams, ensuring engineers have the tools, skills, and confidence to build and maintain production-grade AI systems responsibly.
• Stay current on AI/GenAI advancements and bring grounded, timely recommendations on where to invest, what to adopt, and what risks to manage.
• Lead teams to deliver high-quality software on time, ensuring smooth execution of roadmap items.
• Manage cross-team dependencies effectively, ensuring seamless collaboration.
• Continuously improve team processes without over-engineering solutions.
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.
• Identify and nurture future leaders within the team.
• Provide actionable feedback and career coaching to engineers at all levels.
• Create an environment where engineers thrive, innovate, and stay engaged.
• Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to build a world-class engineering team.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including hands-on development and leadership roles.
• 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, ideally in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment (e.g., banking, e-commerce, DevSecOps).
• Proven ability to balance short-term execution with long-term technical vision.
• Experience with scalable architectures, cloud platforms, and transactional applications.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping production-grade agentic AI solutions - including autonomous agents, multi-agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen), RAG pipelines, and LLM-integrated application workflows — with demonstrated ability to take these systems from proof-of-concept through scalable production deployment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on impact-driven decision-making.
• Passion for mentoring, coaching, and growing engineering talent.
• High ownership, drive, and commitment to building a best-in-class engineering culture.
