We are seeking a Technical Sales Manager to lead commercial sales for the Laser Components division within the Attalon Directed Energy and Advanced Lasers segment. This role focuses on identifying technical solutions with customers, generating timely quotes for catalog and custom products, maintaining the price catalog, capturing customer requirements, and managing customer relationships. The Technical Sales Manager will also drive commercial sales growth and represent the business at trade shows. This is a blended role of traditional PLM and Technical Sales responsibilities.

The role requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, inside sales, and program management to ensure strong customer engagement and clear communication. The ideal candidate brings solid technical knowledge of laser components, strong organization and attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.

A successful candidate will effectively manage daily sales operations, support technical customer discussions, maintain pricing tools, and contribute to revenue growth. They will regularly engage with customers to understand needs, provide internal feedback, and ensure smooth quoting and order execution.

Responsibilities

  • Generate accurate, timely price quotes for catalog products
  • Identify technical solutions and align with product capabilities
  • Scope and quote custom engineered solutions
  • Maintain and update the price catalog
  • Capture and communicate customer requirements
  • Coordinate with product tech leads and program managers on customer needs and opportunities
  • Grow commercial sales and identify new opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with engineers, buyers, and technical stakeholders
  • Represent Attalon Laser Components at trade shows and customer events
  • Share internal updates on customer activity and market trends
  • Support collaboration with engineering, operations, and manufacturing

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering, physics, optics, or a related technical or business field
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, or technical customer-facing roles
  • Experience working with lasers, optics, photonics, or other technical components
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship-building skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic technical concepts
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree or PhD in engineering, physics, optics, or a related technical or business field
  • 5 to 10+ years of experience in inside sales or technical account management
  • Experience providing quotes for technical or engineered products
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, pricing tools, or quoting software
  • Experience supporting trade shows or customer-facing industry events
  • Background in a manufacturing or technology environment
