Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Program Manager 2 to support our Aerospace Structures Business Unit. This selected candidate will join our leadership team of qualified, diverse individuals onsite in Iuka, Mississippi.

This person will manage the cost, schedule and technical performance of contract(s) and lead shaping program requirements for follow-on efforts. You will act as primary customer interface for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes and manages milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program risks and opportunities, and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs and manages the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, operations and administrative.

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below.
  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.
  • Experience managing the cost, schedule and technical performance of scope across multiple agile release teams while integrating an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure.
  • Experience with composite materials and large scale assembly operations
  • Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies and tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance and a Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

  • Lead the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
  • Provide profit and loss leadership by actively managing a highly complex program across multiple sites, scaling for high-rate production to achieve completion within cost and schedule
Primary Level Salary Range: $131,800.00 - $197,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
