Position Summary
 The Director of Medical Practice (DMP) is a practicing clinician and site-based clinical leader responsible for the clinical performance, development, and oversight of physicians and advanced practice providers within an assigned Martin's Point Health Care practice location.

Working in partnership with the Director of Practice Operations, the DMP provides leadership across clinical quality, patient access and experience, clinician performance, productivity, value-based care, and population health initiatives. The DMP maintains a patient panel and provides direct patient care while serving as the primary clinical leader for the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and participate in practice call coverage.
  • Lead and directly manage clinicians within the assigned practice site.
  • Partner with the Director of Practice Operations on clinical and operational performance, including access, scheduling, productivity, financial performance, and workflow improvement.
  • Monitor and manage clinician performance related to quality, patient experience, productivity, value-based care, and organizational expectations.
  • Lead clinician coaching, mentoring, professional development, performance management, and retention efforts.
  • Support clinician recruitment, selection, onboarding, and integration into the practice.
  • Oversee clinical quality, chart review, case review, standards of care, and scope-of-practice expectations.
  • Lead or support quality improvement, population health, and value-based care initiatives.
  • Address escalated clinical concerns, patient complaints, and clinical incidents in partnership with practice leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable clinical standards, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and established procedures.
  • Lead regular clinician meetings and participate in practice huddles and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Provide oversight and support for clinical learners and clinicians pursuing leadership development opportunities.
  • Build an engaged, collaborative clinical culture focused on high-quality, patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with board certification, or certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Minimum of three years of direct patient care experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clinicians and implement clinical best practices.
  • Leadership or management experience or training preferred.
  • Active, unrestricted professional licensure as required for the position and practice location, including Maine and New Hampshire when applicable.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead clinicians, manage performance, communicate effectively, collaborate across clinical and operational teams, and support organizational change and continuous improvement.

Pay Range: $238,389.30 - $294,480.90 The pay range above reflects the anticipated base pay range based on a full-time position. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related considerations. Employees may also be eligible for additional compensation, including incentive or commission-based programs, where applicable and subject to the terms of the relevant plan. In addition to base compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement savings with employer contributions, paid time off (including volunteer time off!), pie day, and other employee benefits.
