Job description

Description:
Remote
Our client is seeking a Senior PMO Consultant to support a critical enterprise ERP initiative leveraging Workday Extend. This individual will provide program leadership, establish and mature PMO practices, and serve as a strategic partner to business and technology stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This is not a traditional project coordinator or administrative PM role. The ideal consultant combines strong project governance expertise with deep requirements gathering experience and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, competing priorities, and evolving program needs. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in an environment where PMO standards exist but are still maturing, bringing both structure and flexibility to help drive successful outcomes.
We can facilitate w2 and corp-to-corp consultants. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $80.00 to $85.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
  • Lead project and program management activities for a large-scale ERP initiative utilizing Workday Extend.
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to gather, document, validate, and prioritize requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops and discovery sessions using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, RACI matrices, action item trackers, status reporting, and executive communications.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and mitigation strategies across the program.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and facilitate resolution of competing priorities and contentious discussions.
  • Establish and enhance PMO processes, governance, and reporting standards within a developing PMO organization.
  • Provide proactive recommendations and creative solutions when project constraints require deviation from standard methodologies.
  • Support executive leadership with program health assessments, decision-making materials, and strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned to scope, timeline, budget, and business objectives.

Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years of project, program, or PMO leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading large-scale ERP implementations and transformations.
  • Strong experience supporting Workday programs; Workday Extend experience highly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in requirements gathering, business analysis, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience delivering projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and navigate complex organizational dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of PMO governance, project controls, risk management, and resource planning.
  • Ability to adapt project management approaches based on business needs, team capabilities, and program constraints.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.
  • PMP certification preferred but practical delivery experience is considered equally important.
  • Experience working within organizations with developing or maturing PMO functions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise application, ERP, HRIS, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Background in organizational change management and business process improvement.
  • Experience working directly with executive sponsors and steering committees.
