Job description

Are you passionate about driving innovation in financial technology? Do you want to support the brightest entrepreneurs in the Atlanta area? Are you committed to fostering diversity and inclusion in the startup ecosystem? If so, this position is for you!

gener8tor, a nationally recognized startup accelerator, is seeking a Managing Director to lead our Pinnacle Atlanta Innovation Accelerator in Atlanta, GA. This program is launched in partnership with Pinnacle Financial Partners (PNFP). The MD will oversee at least one 12‑week program per year, investing $100,000 each into five Atlanta‑based FinTech startups led by underserved founders.

As the Managing Director of Pinnacle Atlanta Innovation Accelerator, you will be responsible for recruiting, selecting, and investing in the most promising early‑stage startups addressing challenges such as innovations in banking, regulatory compliance, and fintech solutions while building relationships with ecosystem partners to strengthen the support system for your portfolio.

Success for an MD looks like building a strong portfolio of innovative fintech startups, driving impact in financial technology, investing in diverse founders, and supporting Atlanta’s growth as a leading hub for financial technology solutions. You will develop relationships with mentors, investors, entrepreneurs and community partners while ensuring startups are set up for success. You will have ownership over the program and will report to the Senior Managing Director of Investment Accelerators in the Southeast while collaborating across the organization with gener8tor’s centralized support teams.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit startup applicants and lead the due diligence and selection process for at least one cohort of five startups.
  • Develop relationships with mentors, investors, and partners who can support the program and participating companies.
  • Plan logistics, engage with the network, and execute the accelerator programs and related activities.
  • Act as the lead mentor and point of contact for investments before, during, and after the program, including monitoring progress for each startup post‑program.
  • Build relationships with ecosystem partners and engage in the broader Atlanta and Southeast financial services ecosystem.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with gener8tor staff, PNFP representatives, and other local stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with program partners by providing ongoing updates, program reporting, and key metrics.
  • Assist alumni with ongoing mentor, sponsor, and investor relations following the program.
Requirements
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a self‑starter. Experience as a founder, employee in a venture‑backed company, or in venture capital required.
  • Passion for the Atlanta ecosystem, financial services innovation and championing underserved entrepreneurs.
  • Collaborative, team‑based mindset. You will work closely with other Managing Directors, founders, external program partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities, and external relationships.
  • Willingness to dive deeper into the financial technology and venture capital communities.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 25%, work some nights and weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A “no job is beneath me” mentality.
  • Commitment to equity across race, place, and gender.
