Make history with us.Position: Retail Sales AssociatePay: $15.50/hourHOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE As a Retail Sales Associate, you will create a positive shopping experience for customers while helping drive sales of Pepperidge Farm bakery and biscuit products. Through exceptional customer service, suggestive selling, merchandising excellence, and strong operational support, you will contribute to store success while ensuring customers receive outstanding service every visit.WHAT YOU WILL DO Customer Service & SalesDevelop a strong understanding of Pepperidge Farm products and proper product handling procedures.Suggestively sell featured products and Behind-the-Counter Specials to every customer.Engage customers in conversation and recommend products that meet their needs.Follow established customer service standards to create a welcoming shopping experience.Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company dress code standards.Merchandising & InventoryMaintain attractive, organized, and fully stocked product displays.Ensure products are properly priced and merchandised according to Red-Black-Blue pricing strategies.Receive, rotate, stock, and merchandise incoming shipments.Assist with unloading deliveries as needed.Process distributor returns accurately.Rotate products to maintain quality and freshness.Store OperationsProtect company assets by following cash handling, security, recordkeeping, and loss prevention procedures.Perform store opening and closing responsibilities, including securing the store and making bank deposit drops/pickups when required.Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately.Maintain cleanliness throughout the sales floor, stockroom, and restroom facilities.Support efficient daily store operations in the absence of management.Perform additional duties as assigned.WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH Store Managers and Assistant ManagersRetail Sales AssociatesCustomers and Community MembersDelivery Drivers and DistributorsBanking Partners for deposits and pickupsInventory and Operations Team MembersWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE (MUST HAVE)High School Diploma, GED, or currently working toward completion.Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, correspondence, and store communications.Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Strong customer service and communication skills.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.Ability to work independently and responsibly when management is not present.Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours per shift.Ability to frequently bend, reach, squat, and perform stocking activities.Ability to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 pounds.Reliable transportation for required travel between the store and bank when necessary.Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE (NICE TO HAVE)Previous retail, cashier, customer service, or sales experience.Experience handling cash and operating point-of-sale systems.Experience stocking merchandise and maintaining retail displays.Experience working in grocery, bakery, food retail, thrift, or outlet store environments.Experience opening and closing a retail location.Knowledge of suggestive selling and customer engagement techniques.Work Environment:This position is performed primarily indoors (approximately 95%) with occasional outdoor responsibilities (approximately 5%). Employees may experience periodic exposure to cold temperatures when handling frozen products. The role requires frequent standing, walking, stocking, merchandising, customer interaction, and lifting throughout the workday.Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
