About the Assistant Manager of Accounts Payable Role
The Assistant Manager of Accounts Payable plays a key leadership role in overseeing day-to-day accounts payable operations while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional internal service. Role Responsibilities
  • Lead daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, expense reimbursements, and payment execution.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of three Accounts Payable professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve inquiries and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Identify and implement process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee vendor setup, maintenance, and related data management activities.
  • Support 1099 reporting, sales and use tax processes, and reconciliation activities.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, performance management, and team development initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory accounts payable experience within a large organization.
  • Prior experience within a Law Firm or Professional Services environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing and developing accounting or accounts payable staff.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior professionals and business leaders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and reporting functions.
  • Experience with enterprise-level accounting systems; familiarity with 3E, Emburse Chrome River, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
