GENERAL DUTIES
Operate District vehicles of various sizes for the purpose of safely transporting students or supporting District programs. Follow procedures to ensure that vehicles are safe to drive.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school diploma or its equivalent
  2. Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  3. Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
  4. Hold a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid Oregon School Bus Driver's Certificate or be able to obtain both within 60 days
  5. Pass a pre-employment drug test

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Transport students in District vehicles of various sizes, as assigned
  2. Manage student behavior while being transported in a District vehicle
  3. Communicate with other school or program staff to address student concerns
  4. Ensure the safety of students in and around District vehicles
  5. Operate District vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and District safety regulations
  6. Coordinate the loading and unloading of students with mobility needs and ensuring that students are properly secured in safety equipment
  7. Develop and maintain vehicle evacuation plans and perform drills with students
  8. Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure proper vehicle operating conditions
  9. Clean District vehicles both inside and outside
  10. Report vehicle accidents and vehicle concerns in a timely manner
  11. Pass quarterly random drug tests
