About the Role:
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Senior database administrator will be working as part of the DBA team on providing a stable, scalable and well-performing database platform to our internal and external customers.
  • Senior database administrator will be responsible for deployments, upgrades, patching and maintenance of the Crunchtime application databases.
  • Senior database administrator will be responsible for researching new functionalities, testing them and writing the documentation and runbooks.
  • Senior database administrator will be mentoring more junior DBAs.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of database platform, performance tuning, issue troubleshooting
  • Responsible for Crunchtime application management operations, such as provisioning, decommissioning, patching, upgrades, etc.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and act as escalation and source of knowledge for more junior DBAs
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance work, database patching, upgrades, etc.
  • Provide database expertise to development, support and other Crunchtime teams

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Team player
  • Ability and desire to learn
  • Perfectionist with high level of attention to detail
  • Oracle Database and RAC administration (6-10 years)
  • Oracle Database backup and recovery (6-10 years)
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Basic understanding of computer networking and SAN
  • Experience in Oracle Dataguard administration
  • Experience in Oracle GoldenGate administration

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL programming
  • Experience in bash scripting
  • Experience in python programming
  • Experience with Jenkins job execution

Education and Experience:
  • BS in Computer Science or related field or have an equivalent experience in the field.

Essential Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
  • Prolonged periods of typing and working at a computer
  • Ability to listen and speak over the phone or Zoom calls
  • High level of mental concentration and focus
  • We have 3 on-call DBAs. Each on-call rotation is 1-week long. DBA must be able to cover his/her on-call rotation.
  • We have a monthly maintenance window. It is on the 3rd Sunday of the month 3:30am-7:30am. DBA must be available during this time.
