Job Description

Diversified Maintenance is hiring an Operations Manager. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing several hundred-service locations and multiple Area or Project Managers within assigned business verticals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing operations, controlling expenses and payroll budgets, leading other managers and guiding on handling employee issues, maintaining vendor relationships and managing risk and safety. The Operations Manager is a role model and leader and must solve problems, make informed decisions and manage the workforce and time to achieve maximum results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all financial and quality performance for assigned customers
  • Build relationships with customers in conjunction with the client relations team
  • Ensure all compliance measures are met
  • Hire, mentor, and evaluate all Area Manager and Project Manager direct reports
  • Implement new customer contracts
  • Review/request equipment needs
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure all employee issues are addressed
  • Inspect worksite locations
  • Implement safety and training activities
  • Serve as backup to Area or Project Manager when necessary
  • Resolve problems and complaints in a timely manner to maintain the highest customer satisfaction possible

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a service-related industry
  • Minimum of three (3) years of operational experience in the janitorial industry
  • Business level oral and written communication skills; ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
  • Ability to lead managers and develop leadership skills In others
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent customer service skills; active listening skills
  • Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; ability to negotiate and resolve conflict

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Bilingual; ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish, French, or other languages
  • Prior cleaning or janitorial experience
  • Familiarity with custodial practices and commercial cleaning standards
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing
  • Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance
  • College Degree desirable

  • Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
