Position Summary

The Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing daily landscape and snow operations, working alongside and in support of our Director of Operations.

This position is responsible for leading field supervisors and crews, coordinating resources, solving operational challenges, maintaining exceptional customer service, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

No two days are the same. This role requires someone who remains calm under pressure, makes sound decisions quickly, and enjoys leading from the front.


Primary Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Assist in managing daily commercial landscape and snow operations
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials
  • Ensure crews leave each morning prepared and productive
  • Monitor productivity and job profitability
  • Resolve operational issues before they become customer problems
  • Assist in scheduling crews and equipment
  • Conduct regular property inspections

Team Leadership

  • Lead and coach foremen and crew leaders
  • Hold employees accountable to company standards
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding
  • Conduct performance coaching
  • Help build a positive, high-accountability culture
  • Address employee concerns professionally

Customer Service

  • Visit properties regularly
  • Resolve service issues quickly
  • Communicate professionally through phone, email, and in person

Snow Operations

During winter, this role becomes a key member of our snow operations leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Storm planning
  • Dispatch support
  • Route management
  • Equipment deployment
  • Customer communication
  • Quality inspections
  • Crew supervision
  • Long hours during weather events

Availability during nights, weekends, and holidays during snow events is required.

Safety

  • Promote a safety-first culture
  • Conduct safety meetings
  • Investigate incidents
  • Ensure OSHA compliance
  • Maintain fleet and equipment standards


Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years commercial landscape experience
  • 3+ years management or supervisory experience
  • Commercial snow management experience
  • Experience leading multiple crews
  • Strong customer communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Comfortable using technology, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Landscape Industry Certified
  • Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) certifications
  • CDL
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
