Description

Prevent. Protect. Prevail.

Join TELUS and elevate the customer experience with a world-class suite of security capabilities tailored to the evolving needs of businesses across Canada. With over 20 years of experience managing critical infrastructure, we're trusted by some of Canada's largest enterprises. Now, we're seeking an accomplished professional to help us grow and expand in the competitive Western Canada market. This is hybrid role where you will be asked to be in office two to three days a week, with limited travel outside of your hub.

As a Senior Cybersecurity Sales Specialist, you'll be at the center of innovation, driving change and delivering results that matter. Your consultative approach will help clients see beyond technology and understand how cybersecurity is the key to unlocking their potential.

Why TELUS?

This isn't just another sales role-it's an opportunity to join a team that's making a real difference. At TELUS, we believe in teamwork, innovation, and challenging the status quo. We're obsessed with winning high-margin business by delivering transformative ideas to our clients. We are looking for a highly technical individual with solid business acumen and experience interacting with both technical teams and executives.

Here's what to expect in your role:

Executive Engagement & Strategic Consultation:

  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives (CIO, CISO, CEO, CFO) to understand their goals and challenges
  • Lead cybersecurity posture assessments to identify risks and opportunities
  • Position TELUS as a strategic advisor, showcasing how our solutions drive business transformation

Strategic Sales & Business Development:

  • Own and grow Cybersecurity accounts in Western Canada's Enterprise segments
  • Collaborate with high-performing field account teams to uncover new opportunities
  • Deliver compelling presentations and tailored solutions to meet client needs

Sales Cycle Mastery:

  • Manage the full sales cycle-from prospecting to closing deals
  • Lead RFP responses and contract negotiations with precision
  • Navigate procurement processes to maximize market potential, especially in commercial accounts

Value Creation & Solution Consulting:

  • Identify areas where TELUS Security can add value and address specific business needs
  • Focus on consulting, outsourcing, staff augmentation, and managed services
  • Demonstrate ROI and business impact to executive stakeholders

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal teams (Sales Executives, Solution Architects, Product Management) to deliver exceptional results
  • Represent TELUS as a trusted brand ambassador in the cybersecurity space

Qualifications
  • Experience: 7+ years managing large, complex accounts in the cybersecurity industry. Proven sales expertise in Mid-Market/Enterprise/Public Sector accounts
  • Skills: Consultative selling, executive engagement, and a knack for translating technical requirements into business value
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS) and solutions like Managed Detection & Response, Incident Response, and IAM
  • Language: Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will on a regular basis interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope
    • Proficiency in French is an asset, but not required
  • Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or equivalent

What you'll get

  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and wellness programs
  • TELUS Shares and Pension Plan
  • Professional development and certification support
  • Access to Premier Sales Organization (PSO) training and certification programs
  • Ongoing coaching from sales quality experts and leadership
  • Exposure to cutting-edge cybersecurity technologies and solutions
