Job description

Cybersecurity AnalystAbout Us

At Cuivre River Electric Cooperative, we power more than just homes and businesses-we power communities. As Missouri's largest electric distribution cooperative, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable energy to our members. As a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative, every decision we make is focused on serving the people who rely on us. We're also committed to protecting the systems, networks, and data that make it all possible.

We're looking for a Cybersecurity Analyst to play a key role in safeguarding our digital environment and driving our cybersecurity program forward.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the cooperative's cybersecurity efforts by identifying risks, strengthening defenses, and ensuring compliance with best practices and standards.

  • Conduct system and network assessments, address vulnerabilities, and implement secure configurations.

  • Review proposed hardware, software, and network changes to ensure security is built into every solution.
  • Develop, document, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Evaluate and implement security tools, staying ahead of emerging threats and technologies.

  • Monitor security alerts and logs, investigate incidents, and serve as the primary point of contact for the Security Operations Center, including participation in a rotating on-call schedule.

  • Help ensure compliance with PCI security standards.
  • Work with vendors and third-party partners to reduce risks in external systems.

  • Champion cybersecurity awareness by leading ongoing training and education for employees.

What We're Looking For

We need someone who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent technical training/experience).

  • Relevant industry certifications preferred (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM).

  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, MFA, Microsoft Azure Suite, and Microsoft 365 Security.

  • Experience with Linux, Windows, LDAP, Switching, and Firewall security aspects.

  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms and monitoring tools.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage employees in cybersecurity awareness.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, impeccable attention to detail, and a drive for innovation.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.

  • Opportunities for ongoing training and professional development.

  • A collaborative, mission-driven work environment where your expertise directly contributes to the reliability and safety of our cooperative.

  • The chance to make a lasting impact-helping protect critical infrastructure and guiding our employees on the importance of cybersecurity.

Working Conditions

This is primarily an office-based role with occasional travel between locations and occasional after-hours response to security alerts. Some travel for training and professional development is also required.

Physical Requirements: This position requires sitting for extended periods, frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment, clear verbal and written communication, and occasional travel between locations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
