The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and collaborative professional dedicated to advancing Process Safety Management (PSM) activities to effectively support ArcelorMittal Calvert’s business objectives. The PSM Site Coordinator will provide leadership, coordination, and technical guidance to improve process safety performance.

The Basics

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Safety, Reliability, Operations Management, or related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, reliability, operations, or process safety experience.
  • Strong understanding of Process Safety Management principles, risk-based decision making, OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, CCPS Risk-Based Process Safety, and related process safety frameworks.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis and process improvement tools.

The Extras

  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Experience facilitating HAZOPs, PHAs, LOPAs, MOCs, incident investigations, and risk assessments preferred.
  • Experience in steel manufacturing, mining, chemical processing, power generation, refining, or other high-hazard industrial environments preferred.
  • Professional certifications related to Process Safety, Reliability, Risk Management, or Safety Management preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provides support for the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the site’s Process Safety Management program
  • Responsible for coordinating Process Hazard Analyses, HAZOPs, LOPAs, What-If Reviews, and Management of Change activities
  • Monitor compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and recognized good engineering practices
  • Coordinate site PSM committees, audits, assessments, governance meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead or facilitate process safety incident investigations, Root Cause Analyses, and corrective action management
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability, and EHS teams to manage process safety risks and critical equipment performance
  • Develop, maintain, and report process safety performance metrics and action item tracking systems
  • Coordinate PSM awareness, competency development, emergency preparedness activities, and process safety culture initiatives

YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Office setting
  • Mill setting – heavy industrial steel manufacturing environment
  • Frequent interaction with operational, maintenance, engineering, project, and leadership personnel throughout the facility
  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to business needs, audits, incident response activities, plant outages, project support, or emergency situations
  • Occasional travel for training, audits, benchmarking activities, or corporate meetings may be required
