Wholesale distributor of frozen foods within a tri-state territory.

Job Description

The Director of Distribution Operations is responsible for the inbound/outbound operations and logistics for all products and freezers distributed and managed throughout our tri-state territory. This manager directs and controls all elements of the distribution process, operating within the capital and operating budget at the lowest cost possible. They will strive to achieve best-in-class customer service and operations systems consistent with our high expectations. Focus is on solving problems, motivating and developing associates and using data from IT systems to evaluate performance and plan/execute improvements.

Reports to: General Manager

Direct Reports: Regional Operations Managers, Fleet Manager, Sales Operations Lead, Warehouse Management, Order/Inventory Management, Transport Driver.

Key Responsibilities:

-Plan, direct and coordinate all distribution management, delivery, repair and facilities activities.

-Assure effective customer service by implementing processes to deliver accurate and complete orders on time to forward Branch storage and retail store locations for both products and freezers. Decide the appropriate quantities of product to stock throughout the cold chain. Collaborate with sales to ensure that new products are available for delivery on a timely basis.

-Develop, document and execute standard operating procedures across all facilities and delivery operations (eg ensure Perfect Branch standards for product handling and delivery driver activities, including preventive maintenance).

-Assure all distribution centers are compliant with Dixie Belle's policies as well as federal, state and local regulations with the safety of all associates as the most critical priority.

-Maintain fleet of vehicles and ensure that each is DOT compliant.

-Assist in the development and implementation of productivity standards and goals in support of the annual operating plan.

-Assist in establishing and managing productivity and service methods and measures to ensure highly efficient and low cost processes are used.

-Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the distribution/warehouse operation including the selection and development of employees/independent contractors, pay administration and budget administration

-Manage the negotiation process for truck/freezer purchases, truck leasing and storage leasing.

-Manage the physical handling and repair of all portable selling freezers owned and operated by us.

-Ensure that all products are stored properly and at the right temperature to preserve product quality and integrity.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's Degree or extensive operations management experience

-Proven track record of driving results through the operation

-Excellent communication, organization and time management skills

-Strong leadership skills

-Ability to do physical work such as walking, lifting materials or equipment, climbing

-Willing to work Saturdays

-Strong computer and analytical skills

-A valid driver's license
