Job description

A growing, multi-disciplinary engineering and project delivery firm seeking a senior commercial leader to drive new revenue, strengthen client partnerships, and expand market presence within the power and industrial sectors.

This position will play a key role in building the company's regional growth strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for opening doors with new clients, developing existing accounts, and working closely with technical teams to turn client challenges into practical, profitable solutions.

The role requires someone who is comfortable operating at a strategic level while also being hands-on with prospecting, client meetings, proposals, and deal execution. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and an internal partner to leadership, helping the business identify where to compete, how to differentiate, and how to win.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing business development strategies across target markets
  • Building relationships with utilities, owner-operators, industrial clients, and senior decision-makers
  • Creating a pipeline of qualified opportunities through outreach, networking, referrals, and market research
  • Managing pursuits from early-stage prospecting through proposal, negotiation, and close
  • Partnering with engineering and delivery teams to shape client-focused solutions
  • Supporting proposal content, pricing strategy, and commercial positioning
  • Tracking market trends, competitor activity, and client investment plans
  • Representing the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry events
  • Expanding existing client relationships through account planning and follow-up
  • Providing leadership with insight on market opportunities, client feedback, and revenue forecasts
  • Supporting project handoff and client satisfaction after work is awarded

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, account management, or client growth
  • Experience selling engineering, EPC, EPCM, consulting, or project delivery services
  • Background in power generation, utilities, industrial infrastructure, or a closely related market
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior-level client contacts
  • Strong track record of developing pipeline, winning work, and growing revenue
  • Ability to understand technical services and translate them into commercial value for clients
  • Experience contributing to proposals, presentations, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship management skills
  • Commercially minded, self-motivated, and comfortable working with limited direction
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, executives, and external stakeholders
Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a commercially minded and self-driven professional who enjoys building relationships, uncovering opportunities, and creating practical solutions for clients. You are comfortable challenging conventional approaches, working closely with internal teams, and contributing to the growth of a fast-expanding business area.

Benefits

  • Base salary of $150,000 to $250,000, depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus tied to growth and revenue results
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) plan with employer contribution
  • Senior-level role with direct impact on company growth
  • Opportunity to help shape a regional market strategy
  • Strong platform for long-term career growth within an expanding organization
