Role Summary

GridStor is looking for an experienced Manager of Finance to join our growing team. The role works closely with senior deal team members to source, evaluate and structure investments in energy storage assets. The investment associate will enable rapid growth by sourcing projects and negotiating terms. The role has significant responsibility across the full deal lifecycle and exposure to highโ€‘profile transactions within a growing, entrepreneurial business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own, maintain and update financial model for investment opportunities and project financings.
  • Implement improvements to the financial model on an ongoing basis in line with changing capital markets.
  • Manage the due diligence process and thirdโ€‘party consultant reports preparation during financings.
  • Assist with development of company standards of quantitative and qualitative analyses to support investment decisions and new market opportunities.
  • Prepare presentations and investment memoranda for the Investment Committee.
  • Support deal execution and take an active role in monitoring the portfolio of development and operating assets.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach finance staff, promoting growth, accountability, and technical skill development.
  • Provide guidance on analytical approaches, modeling techniques, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and highโ€‘performing team culture.
  • Work with existing financing parties to ensure accurate tracking of the projectsโ€™ financial performance.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or another quantitative field; Masterโ€™s or PhD preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in project finance, investment banking or a buyโ€‘side role within a bank, IPP or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong analytics and financial modeling skills including DCF analysis and direct experience with project finance modeling.
  • Understanding of project finance debt and tax equity structures is a plus.
  • Location & Availability: Based in Portland, OR; Denver, CO or Losโ€ฏAngeles, CA and available to work a hybrid schedule with occasional coordination outside of standard business hours.
  • Organizational skills: Exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fastโ€‘paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Entrepreneurial mindset, agile and flexible, willing to take on tasks outside the typical scope of the role.
  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle highly confidential information with utmost discretion.
  • Integrity & Judgment: Strong track record of excellent judgment and integrity in previous roles.
  • Technical proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, Teams, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
