SURTECO specializes in the production and sale of laminates, foils and vinyl-coated fabrics. Our technologies, products and services deliver distinctive performance features, thus helping to support our Customers’ reputations for trusted brands around the globe and in a wide variety of markets.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about leading a team in the manufacturing of high quality laminates and films used in a variety of applications including on cabinetry in kitchen and bath applications, countertops and paneling in recreational vehicles and in the enhancement of interior retail spaces.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing facility, including developing and implementing strategies and processes to ensure efficiency and productivity. The Operations Manager will also be responsible for managing staff, monitoring performance, and ensuring that all operational goals are met. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies and plans to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Lead, manage, develop, and motivate our workforce.
  • Analyze operational data and develop reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage the budget for operations activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Oversee production operations, assuring cost-effective processes that result in products of high quality and on time delivery.
  • Analyze, develop and implement process changes, quality controls and corrective actions that are in compliance with internal and external specifications, and within the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Direct production activities to assure cost-effective operations that meet customer needs.
  • Develop manufacturing plans and objectives aligned with division goals and strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage transformational change in an inclusive way.
  • Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to select, develop, and motivate people to drive a results-oriented culture.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills across the organization.
  • Strong environmental, safety and health background with proven KPI results.
  • Working knowledge of an effective maintenance support function.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management including storage of raw materials, work in process inventory and finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption.
  • Skilled in Time Management/Change Management.
  • Lean Six Sigma training and/or certified training in continuous improvement with documented success.

Work Environment and Environmental Conditions
