We are looking for a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering to join our Information Services team.

As part of a fast-paced, dynamic Information Services team, you will lead our eCommerce and Integration engineering teams and drive the delivery of innovative, high-quality software solutions across the entire development lifecycle, from solution design through implementation and post-launch support. You will provide strategic and technical leadership while staying actively engaged in solution delivery and troubleshooting, partnering with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to modernize applications, strengthen integration capabilities, and advance the organization's use of artificial intelligence. If you are looking for a great opportunity to pursue a rewarding career with a company known for quality and big savings, apply today!

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Develop and execute software engineering strategies and roadmaps aligned with business priorities and technology standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, ask insightful questions, challenge assumptions, and lead collaborative troubleshooting of complex application and integration issues.
  • Partner with enterprise architects to guide solution design, application modernization, cloud adoption, and technology decisions.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-assisted software engineering practices to improve development productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and delivery speed.
  • Guide the delivery of AI-enabled business solutions using multiple models and technologies, including generative image capabilities, product-data enrichment and cleanup, and other retail use cases.
  • Promote effective use of AI coding assistants and emerging development tools across the engineering teams.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of API-led, event-driven, batch, SaaS, and third-party vendor integrations.
  • Ensure software solutions meet established standards for quality, performance, scalability, maintainability, and security.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, Quality Assurance, and other cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Manage external development partners and offshore resources, ensuring clear expectations, accountability, quality, and alignment with internal engineering practices.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and innovative culture.
  • Lead performance management, succession planning, team structure, and resource and capacity planning.
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, Agile delivery practices, DevOps processes, CI/CD capabilities, and development metrics.
  • Stay current with emerging software engineering, AI, cloud, eCommerce, and integration technologies and assess their potential business value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and relevant professional experience.
  • At least 10 years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading development teams or technical leads.
  • Strongly preferred experience in retail or eCommerce, including exposure to digital customer experiences, product and catalog management, merchandising, order management, inventory, store/POS systems, and fulfillment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading both eCommerce development and enterprise integration capabilities.
