Position Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the operations of IS computer systems; supervise and act as the primary point of contact for technical issues and all issues regarding operations production. Coordinate production of all hospital applications; continually works to streamline and improve existing operations production. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.

  • SUPERVISION - Supervise the Operations Team and serves as the primary contact for operations and systems issues for other IS groups and system vendors
  • CONTACT - Serve as the primary contact for computer operations questions related to IT computer operations, and is available on a 24-hour basis to resolve operational problems
  • SCHEDULE - Responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling of computer operators
  • OPERATIONS - Perform computer operations functions on a daily basis, including completing tasks on the production schedule
  • MONITOR - Monitor all systems and solve problems or bring them to attention of the appropriate personnel; receive and give turn-over to the other operators; restore files from backup tapes when needed
  • SCHEDULE - Produce daily production schedules for all shifts, incorporate any special requests
  • COORDINATE - Serve as primary point of contact for all operation productions; coordinate operational changes to existing production systems and reports; act as a gatekeeper for all production by coordinating requests between all different hospital applications
  • COORDINATE - Coordinate system backups by ensuring correct tapes are onsite and available for all shifts, for any backups that are scheduled
  • INTEGRATE - Implement new procedures and integrate new systems into the operations environment
  • PROCEDURE - Streamline and improve existing operational procedures
  • AUTOMATION - Apply extensive knowledge of operating system and command languages in automating operational tasks
  • CODING - Produces documentation and performs coding of operational procedures
  • DOCUMENTATION - Keep run sheets, schedules, and production documentation current at all times
  • PROJECTS - Assume role of project leader on key operations projects
  • TEAM - Participate as team member in intra/inter-departmental and cross-functional teams and cross-training
  • DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
  • MAINTENANCE - Assist in the care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment, and supplies

Vocational training post-high school in related field

Physical Conditions
