Developing, operating, and managing data center infrastructure the right way means ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility, and capital and operational cost efficiency — all within a safe, healthy working environment.Playing a positive role in the communities where we operate is equally important to us. Meta is hiring two Regional Managers to lead teams within our data center Community Engagement organization, with a preference for one based in the Western United States and one in the Eastern United States. Each Regional Manager will oversee a team of Community Engagement Managers responsible for driving community development initiatives across their assigned region.In this role, you will drive cross-functional alignment across site selection, operations, policy, communications, and public affairs to advance local community strategies. You will also serve as a critical internal connector, ensuring company priorities are reflected in regional engagement efforts.
Regional Manager of Community Engagement Responsibilities:
  • Regional Manager of Community Engagement supports our community engagement strategy, driving short- and long-term community affairs initiatives in data center communities in a particular geographic area
  • Serve as internal advocate for community interests, proactively building relationships across cross-functional partners to ensure community engagement priorities are represented in infrastructure planning and decision-making.
  • Lead and manage a team of community engagement managers, providing strategic direction, coaching, and accountability for developing, coordinating, and implementing community affairs initiatives across regional data center markets.
  • Develop strategies to build a broader profile and reputation for the company in assigned data center communities.
  • Build and enhance external relationships with a variety of stakeholders and elected officials and staff
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal teams — including site selection, public policy, communications, legal, and data center operations — to align company and infrastructure goals with local community strategies and advance them at the market level.
  • Monitor local community needs and report back to leadership with regular cadence with risks to larger business goals.
  • Lead integrated planning across External Affairs by driving alignment on communications, events, and project initiatives — ensuring community engagement is embedded in broader cross-functional strategies.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 75%).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in public affairs, nonprofit management, government relations, economic development or public facing engagement
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, communication, external affairs, business field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with nonprofit grants, donation, and corporate social responsibility planning
  • Experience to communicate and work with highly confidential information
  • Experience with communication, organizational and program management skills, with the experience to manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating and building productive cross-functional and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with local and state policy and legislative processes. Experience with understanding of legislative proceedings and planning at a local level

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Data center experience
  • Public Relations experience
  • Master of Public Administration or Master of Business Administration
