Position Overview:
Through strategic leadership and collaborative partnerships, the Regional Director of Business Development drives census growth, sales performance, and referral engagement across all regions. This role supports the organization's mission by aligning business development initiatives with operational goals, ensuring seamless execution of sales strategies, and fostering strong community relationships. The Director will lead cross-functional teams, manage CRM implementations, and provide oversight for regional marketing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Oversight
  • Provide strategic direction for census and sales initiatives across all buildings and regions.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Growth and Experience to align and execute strategic priorities.
  • Lead project management for new processes and CRM implementations.
  • Support regional operations to ensure continuity and performance.
  • Ensure admission agreements and preadmission screenings are accurate and compliant.

Sales & Census Growth
  • Monitor and analyze census trends and sales performance across markets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet census targets and budget expectations.
  • Deliver growth plans for regions and facilities to drive census and revenue.
  • Identify and pursue new business leads and referral opportunities.
  • Align referral priorities with organizational goals and close new referral sources.

Referral & Community Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and referral sources.
  • Collaborate with hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, and physicians.
  • Represent the organization at outreach and marketing events.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings to maintain referral engagement and satisfaction.

Regional Collaboration & Communication
  • Partner with Executive Directors, DOMAs, Clinical Liaisons, and regional teams to support initiatives.
  • Collaborate with billing, central intake, case management, and physician services.
  • Ensure consistent communication between regional and facility-level teams.
  • Oversee standardized procedures including insurance authorizations and compliance.

Team Development & Support
  • Lead onboarding, training, and performance management for Regional Marketing Consultants, DOMAs, and Liaisons.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to promote accountability and continuous improvement.

Market Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze market demographics and utilization data to inform strategy.
  • Document sales and referral activity in the designated system.
  • Provide regular reporting and strategic insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare sales, census development, or business development leadership.
  • Experience in post-acute care, senior living, or healthcare operations preferred.
  • Proven leadership ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive measurable results overseeing multiple locations.
